The Faculty of Traditional Medicine at Tabriz University of Medical Sciences aims to leverage its comprehensive programs to enhance its educational and research initiatives. It seeks to become a national and international center for traditional medicine, traditional pharmacy, and the history of medical sciences. This endeavor is intended to contribute to addressing health-related challenges in the country.
Mission:
The Faculty of Traditional Medicine at Tabriz University of Medical Sciences is dedicated to educating and training specialized and efficient human resources. It is committed to expanding research in traditional medicine, traditional pharmacy, natural products, history, and valuable medical texts. The goal is to promote and disseminate the science of this school to the world, utilizing all available human, material, and spiritual resources. Our primary mission is to offer preventive (health and nutrition) and treatment methods rooted in the principles of traditional medicine (six essential principles and health maintenance). We aim to introduce clinical interventions of traditional medicine and well-known herbal medicines that are effective, safe, have minimal side effects, are evidence-based, and are cost-effective. This will be achieved through research and study of valuable ancient medical resources and medical manuscripts in our country.
The missions to which we are committed in this regard are as follows:
- Utilizing the most prominent, skilled, and experienced professors, along with the most scientific educational methods, to train specialists in fields relevant to Iranian-Islamic culture.
- Conducting extensive research using manuscripts and sources of traditional medicine, traditional pharmacy, and natural remedies to promote human health.
- Creating a conducive and supportive environment for research, exploration, and scholarly exchanges among faculty members, researchers, experts, and university staff.
- Moving towards programs that promote the revival, improvement, and proper integration of traditional medicine into the health system.
- Trying to create a supportive environment among university officials, colleagues from other departments, and members of society by delivering the best research results in line with scientific and ethical principles.
